Boris Miljković’s new film Homecoming – Marina Abramović and Her Children will be premiered as part of the 26th Sarajevo Film Festival, which takes place from August 14th to 22nd, and the Belgrade premiere of the film is expected at the end of the year.

Under the slogan Sarajevo mon amour, the Sarajevo Film Festival will be held entirely online due to the global pandemic. Boris Miljković’s film will have its world premiere at this prestigious festival, as part of the Summer Screen program, which shows films that deal with music, contemporary art and pop culture.

The film directed by Boris Miljković focuses on the final destination of the retrospective exhibition Cleaner and also shows the different phases, personal and artistic challenges of Marina Abramović, as well as her orientation towards cooperation with generations of young artists through the concept of re-performance.

An intimate story about the overall life of the artist, the film  describes the dilemmas that occupied Abramović during her youth in Belgrade, her romantic choices and finally a special kind of artistic loneliness that is almost always associated with the concept of excellence.

The film was produced by the company Akcija produkcija (producer Jovana Karaulić) in cooperation with LLC Abramovic. The director of photography is Andreja Leko, the editor is Nikola Purić, and the composer and sound designer is Petar Antonović.

The project is supported by the Film Center of Serbia, Radio Television of Serbia, with the sponsorship of Raiffeisen Bank and Mercator Idea.
