Miloš Pušić’s third feature film, Working Class Heroes, produced with the support of Film Center Serbia, won the audience award in the “Europe Without Borders” program at the 18th Biografilm festival in Bologna. The world premiere of the film took place in the “Panorama” program of the Berlin Film Festival.

In 2012, the project for the film participated in the script development platform (Script Station) at the Berlin Film Festival. In November 2020, Film Center Serbia approved funds for the completion of the film in the category Stimulation of an independently shot domestic feature film, with the explanation that “Perhaps the greatest value of this film is the empathy with which the director and the actors tell this story about the lost dignity of workers. It is clear from the film that they engage in telling this story without any calculations other than the desire to make this story a film whose heart is in the right place”.

Lidija (Jasna Đuričić) works for a controversial real estate developer. Her job is to oversee a group of construction workers at a newly opened construction site. The workers are dissatisfied with their working conditions and are trying to fight for their rights. The situation gets complicated, the fight for workers’ rights becomes a fight for life and death, and Lidia has to decide whose side she is on.

The film was produced under the auspices of Pušić’s production company “Altertisa”, and in addition to the producer and director Pušić (Autumn in my Street and Dying), his proven collaborators Dušan Spasojević and Ivan Knežević worked on the script. The film crew includes director of photography Aleksandar Ramadanović, set designer Miljena Vučković, costume designer Marina Sremac, sound designers Stevan Milošević and Boris Zaborski. The film was edited by Ivan Knežević and Miloš Pušić.
