The tenth edition of Bašta Fest, an international short feature film festival taking place in Bajina Bašta, was officially opened by actress Milena Radulović on June 29th, after which films from the competition program of the festival were screened. The founders of the festival, actors Maja Šuša and Jovan Jelisavčić, addressed the attendees at the opening ceremony.

Jovan Jelisavčić pointed out: “I am glad to see a large number of colleagues who return to the festival every year” Regardless of my position, as the founder and director of the festival, this is our generational thing. I feel that we created ‘Bašta Fest’ together, we as someone who organized the festival, and you as someone who has unconditionally supported it for years. That connection was a prerequisite for this festival to succeed. Thank you for your friendship.”

Jelisavčić also thanked the Ministry of Culture, the municipality of Bajina Bašta and FCS for their help.

The competition program of the festival includes 29 short feature films from 20 countries. The festival program also includes two non-competition films as part of the closing of the festival, as well as four evenings of outdoor music programs. The main jury of the festival consists of director Radivoje Raša Andrić, actress, director and screenwriter Lana Barić, and actor Ricardo Balada, who will decide on the awards for the best film (Golden Imagination), and the best male and female role (Golden Interpretation).

In addition, there is an award for the best film of the Youth Jury, as well as a regional award for the best camera “Golden Visualization” in cooperation with Cineplanet rental, which is awarded by a professional jury.

The festival traditionally closes with a debut production which, according to the Bašta team, marked the past year. At this year’s festival, after the award ceremony on July 2nd, the audience will have the opportunity to watch the film Have You Seen This Woman? by Dušan Zorić and Matija Gluščević, and the ceremony will be closed by actress Ksenija Marinković with the film crew. Along with this production, the audience will also be able to watch the short film Snežana by Lana Barić.
