Screenwriter and director Stevan Filipović (the director of the hit films Shaitan’s Warrior, Skinning and Beside Me) has completed principal photography of his English-language debut.

His film, titled Breaking Point: A Star Wars Story, happens a few years before The Force Awakens, the seventh part of the saga, and its plot is as follows: The Galactic Empire is conquered. On its ruins, a New Republic was formed, and with it a new generation of Jedi Knights, trained by Luke Skywalker. Skywalker brought the Dast brothers, Nola (Darko Ivić) and Kesa (Slaven Došlo), from the harsh streets of Corellia to hisJedi Temple, to teach them the skills of the Force. The brothers are due for the last lesson tonight.

The short (approximately 15 minutes long) stars: Slaven Došlo (Beside Me, Humidity, Panama), Darko Ivić (Beside Me) and Jana Milosavljevic (Afterparts and the Wrong Man and My Generation Z  TV series).

The director of photography is Djordje Stojiljković, and the film was shot at locations near Belgrade (Avala and Kosmaj). The set designer is Branislav Crvenković, who is in charge of alien masks and special makeup. Assistant director and director of the second team is Isidora Bulatović. Additional filming will take place in Belgrade, aiming for a world premiere in December.

 

Prior to the filming , the actors practiced light saber combat and choreography with the Serbian Stunt Agency (SKA-Team), a team with extensive international experience and achievement, for two weeks, led by Slaviša Ivanović, .

This film is produced by Belgrade-based production company Hypnopolis (produced by Branislav Jević and Dušan Medić), and written in English by Stevan Filipović, based on Star Wars by George Lucas.

Short stories about the recording process will be available on You Tube in December, directed by Aglaja Filipović. Interviews with the cast were conducted by the British film producer Markus Agar, who also worked as a screenplay advisor and dialogue instructor on this performance. Students of the Academy of Arts in Belgrade also worked on the film.
