The feature film “Bullets over Marseille” directed by Gordan Matić was selected for one of the largest auteur film festivals in North America – the Guadalajara Auteur Film Festival. Matić’s film will also be shown in Helsinki, Nigeria, Lagos and Montevideo during November.
“Bullets over Marseille” follows the trial of the terrorists Zvonimir Pospišil, Mio Kralj and Ivan Rajić who were accomplices of Vlada Georgiev Černozemski in the assassination of King Alexander of Yugoslavia and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of France, Louis Barthou, on October 9th, 1934 in Marseille, France. Through the reconstruction and dramatization of the real process, but also through what was omitted during the trial, the court drama tries to come to the truth about the process and the end of European peace. Did the Second World War actually begin in Marseille on October 9th, 1934, with the shooting of King Alexander and Minister Barthou?
The film “Bullets over Marseille” was written and directed by Matić, while Vladimir Andrić also worked on the screenplay. Dušan Ivanović is the director of photography, and the film was edited by Aleksandar Popović. The author’s team includes set designer Nenad Marković, costume designer Dragica Laušević, composer Marko Matović… The film stars: Tihomir Stanić, Vladimir Aleksić, Svetozar Cvetković, Gordan Kicić, Strahinja Blažić, Đorđe Đoković, Nikola Šurbanović, Nikola Milojević, Vladan Živković, David Tasić Daf, Marko Marković and others.
