The documentary Rampart by Marko Grba Singh won the award for best European debut at the 27th edition of the Pavasaris Cinema International Film Festival, which took place in hybrid form from March 24th to April 3rd 2022 in Vilnius. Rampart was shown in the European Debut Competition program.
In this one-hour documentary, the author spends time in an abandoned apartment of his childhood in Belgrade. Memories flood in, idyllic and traumatic. The VHS family archive shows Marko’s world during 1998 and 1999: family gatherings, pets, video games and moments of uncertainty evoke the boy’s life in the whirlpool of historical events.
Marko Grba Singh wrote, directed and produced the film. In addition to Grba Singhh, the film crew includes: director of photography Ivan Marković, editor Mina Petrović and sound designer Luka Barajević. The executive producer is Jelena Angelovski. The film was produced by Nanslafu Films. Maria Vera (Kino Rebelde) is in charge of worldwide rights. The film was made with the support of Film Center Serbia.
