Cat’s Cry, a Serbian-Canadian-Croatian film directed by Sanja Živković received a standing ovation and special recognition in the First and Second feature film categories at the 43rd edition of the Vancouver International Film Festival.

The premiere in Vancouver was the Canadian national premiere, and the Serbian national premiere of the film is scheduled for February 2025.

Cat’s Cry is a Serbian-Canadian-Croatian co-production. The script for was written by Goran Paskaljević and Đorđe D. Sibinović.

The main role of Stamen is played by Jasmin Geljo, known for his roles in many editions of the cult play “Audition”. Other roles are played by Andrijana Đorđević, Sanja Mikitišin, Marija Škaričić, Srđan Miletić, Sergej Trifunović and others.

“Cat’s Cry” is based on the true story of a worker and his wife who are fighting for the custody of their own grandson. The film deals with the theme of parental responsibility, survival and universal unconditional love.

The film was supported by production funds from the Film Center of Serbia, and was also supported by Canadian Telefilm and the Croatian Audiovisual Center.

The producers of the film are Vladimir and Petar Paskaljević.
