Jovan, student from province, convicted on one year prison time, starts serving his sentence on department for convicted addicts. He’s introduced to the rules. Department for addicts in Special Prison Hospital is the only of its kind in Serbia. Drug addicts, dealers, youngsters of good helath, cured men serving old sentences – all locked up together with Jovan. This social mix leads to smuggling drugs inside. Some inmates don’t resist the temptation, others profit on dealing. Rigid hierarchy among inmates helps to avoid surveillance. By organized abuse of circumstances, a small group of inmates around dealer Mare imposes unwritten rules on the block. Jovan resists, but eventually his acquaintance with Mare becomes a user – dealer hustle. Jovan becomes addicted to heroin. His prison sentence becomes „captivity in illness“. The drug dealing scheme is discovered. Pressure on Jovan grows, as the truth breaks out on his shoulders: he denies everything, but is infected with hepatitis C.
