Having spent seven years in exile, the Borota family returns home to Croatia. Separated by a brutal civil conflict, the family finally comes together. In this intimate story, the author provides an insight into the personal tragedy of each member of the Borota family and through their personal tragedies, into the tragedies of over 250,000 Serbs who were forced to leave their home in 1995, as well as all the other refugees of former Yugoslavia. The story of the Borota family is a story of the universal human need for a family home. Following the loss of their old home, the Borota family tries to build a new one, but yearns for the old one. Once again, the family finds itself uprooted and uncertain of what the future might carry.
