Bosnia, 1993. In the middle of the woods, Amila gives birth to a baby boy. Bosnia, 2007. The Sarajevo orphanage is home to a boy, Alen, who believes his parents are a French lady and an Englishman who have, as war reporters, met in Sarajevo. A new young headmaster named Mirza, arrives at the orphanage. A boy called Eduard (Edo) arrives to the orphanage. Alen takes Edo under his wing. At an orphanage ceremony we see married couples who wish to adopt. There is a store in the vicinity owned by Sento, an arrogant and rude man who sells alcohol to children. Alen gets into a fight with Sento, but Edo shoots Sento and kills him. Alan takes the blame and decides to run away. But first, he steals his files from the orphanage and discovers that his mother is Bosnian. He finds his mother Amila and starts a new life with her. But their past keeps haunting the both of them.
