The story follows the most important events in life of Saint Sava, also moments in serbian history related to the creation of the first Serbian kingdom and the independence of the Serbian orthodox church. The film was shot at authentic sites related to the life of Saint Sava - Ras, Dezeva, St. Peter's Church in Novi Pazar, monasteries Hilandar, Studenica, ®ièa, Mile¹eva and Belgrade.
