The independent film center Filmart from Požega, organizers of Interaction 2024 film camp, has announced several open calls for participation in the nineteenth Student Film Camp, the twelfth edition of the Documentary Film Workshop, as well as the third edition of the Short Documentary Film Festival.
This year’s Interaction Camp is held from August 10th to 27th and 15 participants will take part in it – students of production, direction, camera, sound design and editing. The participants, divided into three teams, during their stay in Čačak, Užice and Požega, will shoot three short creative documentary films under the mentorship of Efim Graboy, an Israeli documentary filmmaker. The application deadline for the Camp is March 1st, 2024.
The second open call is for the Documentary Film Workshop, which will be held from August 20th to 27th, 2024. The workshop is an intensive seven-day educational program intended for filmmakers, students of film academies, as well as all those who wish to, through lectures and discussions, improve their knowledge and skills in the field of creative documentary film or develop their documentary projects with our experts – prominent documentary film makers. The lecturers and tutors will be Rada Šešić from Amsterdam, programmer of numerous festivals (IDFA, Sarajevo Film Festival, etc.), Chris Filippone, a documentary filmmaker from the USA, who graduated from Stanford University and is currently a guest lecturer at the University of Iowa (USA ), Wouter Jansen from the Netherlands, one of the leading European distributors and the founder of the festival distribution company Square Eyes, Iva Plemić Divjak, producer of documentary films from Belgrade and president of the Association of Documentary Filmmakers of Serbia – DOKSrbija, as well as Jamie Meltzer, award-winning documentary film director and professor at Stanford University in the USA. The deadline for applying for participation in the Workshop is April 1st, 2024.
In addition to the two calls for applications for the Camp and the Workshop, Filmart also announced a open call for applications for films for the third edition of Interakcija: Short Documentary Film Festival. The festival is dedicated to short creative documentaries with a runtime of up to 40 minutes, which through originality and innovation contribute to pushing the boundaries of documentary film. A small number of carefully selected short documentaries will be presented to the audience within the competition and two non-competitive programs – In focus and Interscreen. The deadline for registration is April 15th, 2024, and the Festival will be held from August 20th to 27th, simultaneously in Užice, Požega and Čačak.
In addition to these programs, IVA programs will also be held in Užice during that period – Lab and Interaction: Teen Doc workshop for high school students from Serbia and the countries of the region.
