After its world premiere at of this year’s Sarajevo Film Festival, Boris Miljković’s documentary Homecoming – Marina Abramović and Her Children will be screenedat a number of festivals all over Europe, but also in South America. First in Croatia (DA2 – Zagreb Design, Art & Architecture Film Festival), then Czech Republic (Jihlava), Spain (Mostra de Valencia), Brazil (Sao Paulo de Mostra), Poland (Warsaw Film Festival and Camerimage Film Festival) and Belarus (Minsk International Film Festival).
The film follows the final destination of the retrospective exhibition Cleaner and also shows the different phases in life and artistic challenges that Marina Abramović overcame, as well as her orientation towards cooperation with generations of young artists through the concept of re-performance.
An intimate story about the life path of the artist Homecoming – Marina Abramović and Her Children describes the dilemmas that had occupied her during her youth in Belgrade, her romantic choices and finally a special kind of artistic loneliness that is almost always associated with the concept of excellence.
The film was produced by the company Akcija produkcija (producer Jovana Karaulić) in cooperation with LLC Abramovic. The director of photography is Andreja Leko, the editor is Nikola Purić, and the composer and sound designer is Petar Antonović.
