The film “Toma”, directed by Dragan Bjelogrlić, follows the ups and downs of one of the greatest singers, bohemians and artists in the former Yugoslavia – Toma Zdravković.
More than 200 people worked on this romantic drama, which was filmed for almost six months at locations in Serbia, Montenegro and America, led by executive producer Nataša Višić, co-director Zoran Lisinac, director of photography Goran Volarević, set designers Jelena Sopić and Jovana Cvetković and costume designer Boris Čakširan.
The screenwriters are Nikola Pejaković, Zoran Lisinac, Dragan Bjelogrlić and Maja Todorović. The music for the film was composed by Željko Joksimović.
Tomo Zdravković is played by Milan Marić, while the character of Silvana Armenulić is played by Tamara Dragičević. We will see Petra Benčina, Milan Kolak, Sanja Marković, Andrija Kuzmanović, Milena Radulović in the roles of important personalities in the singer’s life, while Mirjana Karanović and Slobodan Boda Ninković play Toma’s parents.
The film will have its world premiere on August 20th at the Sarajevo Film Festival, while it will open the Film Meetings Festival in Niš the next day, August 21st. The project was realized in cooperation with Telekom Srbija and the Film Center Serbia. Theatrical distribution in Serbia is planned for mid-September.
