Serbian director and screenwriter Goran Marković, whose filmography includes the classics Tragic Burlesque, Special Education, National Class, Variola Vera and Tito and Me has been announced as this year’s winner of the honorary Maverick award at this year’s Motovun Film Festival, which gives special recognition to authors who uncompromisingly follow their own vision.
The festival will be held from July 26th to July 30th, and the audience will have a chance to see 19 independent films from around the world as selected by the selectors Milena Zajović and Jurica Pavičić, and there are also ten films from Sweden, this year’s country-partner of the festival.
