Tina, a young wife and mother, lives in what appears to be an idyllic marriage in a picturesque town on the Adriatic coast. When she expresses a desire to continue her education, which she had to put on hold due to pregnancy, her husband's quiet and persistent rebellion begins. Determined in her intent, Tina enrolls in college. Conflicts between Tina and her husband Frane are frequent, but they are not openly discussed, even when they turn violent. Tina persistently strives for herself, but Frane and the family want Tina to devote herself to their child and household. With the help of her mother, Tina manages to balance college, family, and an increasingly rich social life. Frane, who appears to be a successful man, regularly sabotages Tina. Their conflicts and tensions constantly escalate. One evening, Tina goes out with her friends. When Frane sees Tina having fun, he brutally attacks her physically once again. Their fierce argument escalates and results in a tragic event that forever changes their lives.
