SHE IS ALIVE

At the one side of the inner yard lives a Mother (45), who is left alone by her husband, with a little Boy (8) and his Sister (23). At the other side lives a Wife (30) with her Husband (50), a geologist in pension, who has suffered a heavy stroke and now lives at the edge between life and death. These two women are trying to find ways to deal with their loneliness. The Mother is desperately trying to find a man, and she becomes addicted of latinoamerican sope operas. On the other hand, the Wife is trying to die along with her husband, and she's trying to kill every bit of sensuality left in her. Mother's behavior towards her children becomes patologic - she wants her eight year old son to become a replacement for her gone husband, and she hates his sister's baby, because the father left them too. The Husband, aware that he has devoted his whole life to exploring the caves and neglected his Wife, is trying to persuade her to continue with life without him, and to tell her how sorry he is. But it is too late - the illness has almost completely taken his power of speech from him. Young people around them (nurse that takes care of the Husband and two students who live in the same inner yard) are full of sensuality and life. For the Wife they are the obstacle, for the Mother they are the opportunity, leading to one and only conclusion - eros overcomes death.
