LOVERBOY (Minority coproduction)

Luca (20) has the looks of a Hollywood star. For some reason, he chooses to stay in Hârºova, a poor, small town, where nothing ever happens. He has a girlfriend, Veli, with whom he takes long walks in the golden fields of the Danube. He seems to be in love with her.“Loverboy” is the term used by the police working with human traffic, for the boys who recruit girls using charming techniques. Luca charms the girls, makes them fall in love with him, then proposes them a deal: to prostitute abroad and split the money with him. The death of a former lover, whom he sent to work in Italy, endangers his freedom and makes him have certain doubts. Veli is truly different from the other girls and, for the first time, Luca ponders upon selling her or not.
