The Commission of Film Center Serbia has proposed support for five projects in the category of co-financing the production of domestic feature films, and the proposal was accepted by the FCS Board of Directors.

Supported projects:

SO MUCH FOR TODAY
Director: Marko Đorđević
Screenplay: Marko Đorđević
Producer: Altertise

From the explanation of the commission: The film’s story is adorned with persuasiveness, unpretentiousness and modesty, just like the one from Đorđević’s debut film My Morning Laughter, and above all the author’s organic need to illuminate the happiness that “small” people, one family, can find in little things.  The author gathers a proven team with which he created the previous film, from the cast to the director of photography and producer, and unequivocally assures us with the director’s poetics that his second film will also be very special.

DAUGHTER
Director: Vladimir Blaževski
Screenplay: Vladimir Blaževski
Producer: DIGITALKRAFT

From the explanation of the commission: It is extremely interesting that the author managed to write such a good, convincingly realistic script, detecting a problem, emphasizing it as another form of “imperfection of our world”, without any scripturally pretentious elements. A very precise, carefully nuanced characterization also contributes to such an impression. Given the story and theme, and the name of the screenwriter and director Blaževski, a multi-award winning author, the film will undoubtedly have support in world art circles and very easily find minority co-producers throughout Europe.

SALIGIA
Director: Petar Ristovski
Screenplay: Teodora Ristovski
Producer: Kinozoik

From the explanation of the commission: The script fully follows the spirit of the time we are currently in. The director has enough experience to bring this project to an end, without any problems, as he showed in his previous project King Petar the First which had notable success at festivals and at the box office. The Commission believes that this project fully meets all the criteria to be supported by FCS and that this film will have a prominent place in Serbian contemporary cinema.

SUNDAY
Director: Nemanja Ćeranić
Screenplay by: Stefan Bošković
Producer: Pelicula production

From the explanation of the commission: An exciting story about the life of folk singer Džej Ramadanovski, placed in the context of a bygone time that evokes nostalgia, is given without excessive pathos, with impressive characterization. The script adheres to important facts from the singer’s biography, treating them with sympathy for the protagonist, which is only accentuated by the depiction of the harsh reality he was facing, as it should be in a well-crafted film.

CROWN
Director: Vasilije Nikitović
Screenplay by: Dušan Bulić, Aleksandar Karajović, Dragoljub Stojković, Dragan Jovanović, Vasilije Nikitović
Producer: Kinooko film

From the explanation of the commission: An ambitious project in every sense, not only in regards to the screenplay, based on the idea of creative revitalization of the tradition of film processing of the Roma world, very rich in Serbian cinematography. Simply put – the director and the screenwriting team he brought together are obviously united in their intention to tell a modern fairy-tale story, while respecting the  relevant heritage, and with an awareness of the patterns characteristic of this milieu that take on the outlines of a genre flick. A microcosm in which exotic kings and princesses, beggars, warriors and lovers aresignificantly different from their film predecessors who were happy to collected feathers and flew into the sky in hanging homes.
