In the year when the the oldest active cinema theatre in Belgrade – the Cultural Center Cinema Theatre – marks 60 years of existence and continuous operation, it has also received the prestigious award from Europa Cinemas network for the best cinema program in a competition of almost 1,200 European film theatres. This prestigious award will be presented on Tuesday, December 12th just before the theatrical preview of Wim Wenders’ Perfect Days.
The cinema network Europa Cinemas, which includes 1,151 cinemas in 695 European cities, this year declared the program of the Cultural Center of Belgrade as the best. For almost thirty years, the Europa Cinemas network has been supporting cinemas that dedicate a large part of their screenings to European films, and the Belgrade Cultural Center Hall has been part of this network since 2006.
Menem Riša, the coordinator of the Europa Cinemas network for the Balkan region, will come to Belgrade on this occasion to present the award. The award will be received by the employees of the Cultural Center of Belgrade, including some of its long-term collaborators, because this success is the result of the long-term work of the editors-in-chief and film program editors, as well as all employees of the Cultural Center.
