After four days packed with conferences, pitching, meetings and networking FEST Forward team is wrapping up for 2017, looking forward to the opening of the new call in September.
FEST Forward welcomed over 130 guests coming from more than 20 European countries, this year. From 2nd to 5th of March Yugoslav Cinematheque turned into the meeting place for producers, sales agents, distributors, exhibitors and directors presenting their upcoming films.
Co-production market garnered a big attention this year attracting 82 projects from 16 countries. Eight of them were selected in international and nine of them in national selection.
One of the biggest news in 2017 for FEST Forward was a beginning of the cooperation with European Women’s Audiovisual Network. Film Center Serbia and EWA, for the first time, awarded a project concentrating on films for women, about women and by the women with a Best Pitch Award in international selection Women in Film. The winning project is FORTNIGHT, that will be directed by Agnieszka Woszczynska and produced by Agnieszka Wasiak.
Film Center Serbia continued to support development of Serbian film industry by organizing a pitching workshop held by Gabriele Brunnenmeyer for the selected project in the national selection. Winner of this year’s Best Pitch Award in National Selection is the project WITCH HUNTERS to be directed by Raško Miljković and produced by Jovana Karaulić.
This year’s co-production market was organized by Film Center Serbia in the cooperation with Association of Serbian Film Producers.
Beside co-production market, Film Center Serbia organized the first Conference of Distributors and Exhibitors, in cooperation with MCF MegaCom, discussing the problems distributors and exhibitors are facing in Serbia and possibilities for further development of the sector.
