The Institute of Documentary Film will, for the eleventh time, award the Silver Eye Award to the best documentaries from Central and Eastern Europe during the Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival. Among the eleven nominated short films, alongside another contender from Serbia, Then Comes the Evening by Maja Novaković, there is also Ivan Milosavljević’s Blue Frontier.

Synopsis: An old fisherman calls forth the largest catfish, every dawn, and has been for years. This meeting is all that is left and the only thing that makes sense in this lonely fisherman’s life. Will his dream come true?

The film is directed by Ivan Milosavljević. It was produced by Black Rooster Studio, namely Ivan MilosavljevićStrahinja Marković, and Marina Lajtner (studio KOREKTIF). The DOP is Strahinja Marković, editing is by Stevan Spasić, and sound engineers were Miloš Drndarević and Matija Leković. Sound design is by Miloš Drndarević, and visual effects by Dejan Šolajić.

Blue Frontier is a co-production between Serbia and Slovenia. The development of this film was supported by the FCS competition to co-finance short documentaries in June 2018. The film is in the final stages of post-production and has yet to premiere.
