A total of 49 films will compete for the “Heart of Sarajevo” awards in the competition programs of the 29th Sarajevo Film Festival. Additionally, two galas will be held, as well as one special screening. In the four competitive selections – feature, documentary, short and student film – 22 productions will have their world premiere, including two international, 22 regional and three in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The selection team for this year’s festival has to consider 935 registered and submitted films of various lengths.

Aslew of Serbian films will compete for the “Heart of Sarajevo” awards. The main competition program will alo include Lost Country, a new film by screenwriter and director Vladimir Perišić, which had its world premiere last year – in the official program of the Cannes Film Festival, and there is also a minority Serbian co-production, Excursion by Una Gunjak (gala screening out of competition). Part of the same program is Guardians of the Formula, the new film by Dragan Bjelogrlić, which soon have its world premiere at the Locarno Festival. In Sarajevo it will be screened out of competition, but as part of the Gala screenings there.

In the documentary program, the world premiere of the feature film Bottlers by Nemanja Vojinović will be held. Part of this selection is the film The Labudović Dossier: Unmatched by Mila Turajlić.

The production of the mentioned films was also supported by Film Center Serbia, and the 29th “Sarajevo Film Festival” will be held from August 11th to 18th this year.
