The call for selections of short films for the ninth 21114 Film Fest, which will be held from August 31st to September 3rd at several locations in Novi Sad’s Novi Naselje, is open. The festival will consist of a feature-length selection as well as three short film selections – Zlatni čep (Golden Cork), International selection and Animated short. The application deadline is August 1st 2023.
The already traditional “Golden Cork” selection will present short film productions from the area of the former Yugoslavia. Documentary and feature films by authors under the age of 35, whose premiere was a maximum of 18 months before the festival, will compete for the audience award on the first night of the festival.
The goal of the selection is to promote young directors, authors, playwrights, amateurs and enthusiasts, which gives them the opportunity to present their work on the big screen in front of a large audience. The selector of the “Golden Cork” is the young director Ružica Anja Tadić.
The international selection has been gathering audiences interested in short documentaries and feature films from all over the world for the last three years. Actor and director Igor Pavlović will be the selector of the International Selection.
The Animated Short selection makes its debut at the festival this year, inspired by the organizer’s own work in the field of animated film production, and with the support of friends and associates from the world of animation. The selection is open for short animated films from the region and the whole world. As the mission of the 21114 Film Fest empowers young artists and creatives, this year the young and experienced animator Marko Draško will try his hand as a selector of the Animated Short selection.
The Trešnja Fest podcast selection will be a guest of the festival. Lovers of thrash culture, together with the selector Igor Kovačević, will have the opportunity to watch, comment on and rate thrash films live. Films that have never seen the light of day, interesting home videos and spontaneous recordings will be shown if you send them to the email address – 21114filmfest@gmail.com.
