At the recently concluded 32nd International Film Festival “Golden Knight”, held in the city of Grozny (Chechen Republic, Russia), films from Serbia won numerous awards. The seven-day program featured a competition of 190 films from 22 countries.
In the film category – the “Golden Diploma” went to A Cross in the Desert. The short documentary film Tree Crown won the “Golden Diploma” award. The “Diploma” award was awarded to the film Fresco. The animated film An Adventure of a Caricature received the “Special Diploma of the Jury”. “Special recognition of the Makhachkala Eparchy of the Russian Orthodox Church” went to the short feature film The Miracle Worker of Tuman.
The selection of feature films also includes the following films: Storm (dir. Miloš Radunović), Heavenly (dir. Mario Glamazić), and A Cross in the Desert. (dir. Hadži-Aleksandar Đurović).
In the selection of short feature films, Serbia was represented by the film The Miracle Worker of Tuman.(dir. Bojana Krstić).
In the selection of feature-length documentary films, Serbian representatives were: Without (dir. Luka Papić), Serbian Princess Ana Jakšić (dir. Ranka Jakšić), Soldier’s Love Forever (dir. Željko Mirković).
In addition to films from Serbia, the selections also included films by Serbian authors from the Republika Srpska, Don’t Cry Mother (dir. Milana Majar), as well as from Montenegro – with Fresco (dir. Radisav Jevrić).
At the festival, among the jury members were screenwriter and producer Jovan Marković (animated film), producer Sveta Strahinjić (short documentary film), actress Ivana Žigon (long documentary film), director Hadži-Aleksandar Đurović (student film), and PhD student at Cambridge Vukan Marković (feature film).
