The International Film Festival “Zerkalo” (Mirror) is being held in Ivanovo, Russia, In honor of the famous Russian and European filmmaker Andrei Tarkovsky (1932-1986), and the Serbian feature Working Class Heroes directed by Miloš Pušić has just won the Grand Prix. The film, created with the support of the Film Center Serbia, premiered this winter in the program of the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival, and had its premiere in Serbia at the 50th FEST.
The film was made under the auspices of Pušić’s production company “Altertisa”, and in addition to the producer and director Pušić (Autumn in my Street and Death), his long-time collaborators Dušan Spasojević and Ivan Knežević worked on the script. The film crew includes director of photography Aleksandar Ramadanović, set designer Miljena Vučković, costume designer Marina Sremac, sound designers Stevan Milošević and Boris Zaborski. The film was edited by Ivan Knežević and Miloš Pušić.
The story of the film follows Lidia (Jasna Đuričić), who works for a controversial construction investor. Her task is to control a group of construction workers at a newly opened construction site. The workers are dissatisfied with their position and are trying to fight for their rights. The situation gets complicated, the fight for workers’ rights becomes a life and death fight, and Lidia has to decide whose side she is on
In addition to Jasna Đuričić, the film also stars: Boris Isaković, Predrag Momčilović, Stefan Beronja Cile, Aleksandar Đurica, Mihajlo Badža Pleskonjić, Bojana Milanović, Ervin Hadžimurtezić, Filip Đurić, Peđa Marjanović, Marko Vasiljević and others. The film was created with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia, the Secretariat for Culture of AP Vojvodina and Film Center Serbia.
