Brave and authentic films of the most important independent filmmakers from around the world will be screened at 15th Beldocs festivale, one of the leading documentary film festivals in this part of Europe. At the press conference where the festival, taking place May 11th-18th in Belgrade, was announced as an inspiring place that shares a passion for films, and the festival program and tickets will be available from tomorrow via the website beldocs.rs.
“In anticipation of the 15th Beldocs, we are looking forward to having some of the most anticipated documentaries this year. The festival will include 12 program units, and for the first time in our country, we will screen more than 100 of the best documentaries of today. We will show the award-winning documentaries of some of the most daring filmmakers working around the world today. In addition to film screenings, we will organize panels and Master Class lectures, as well as Industry activities and workshops, with cash prizes for the development of future films, “said Mara Prohaska Marković, the festival adding that this year the festival wants to support to our colleagues and partners in Ukraine. “Some of them are still filming in Ukraine and have been tragically killed while filming.”

The Prime Time program will screen some of the most anticipated documentaries in the world for this year: Babi Yar. Context and Mr. Landsbergis (Sergei Loznitsa), JFK: Through the Looking Glass (Oliver Stone), Kurt Vonnegut: Unstuck in Time (Robert B. Weide, Don Argott), The Rosellinis (Alessandro Rossellini, Lorenzo d’Amico de Carvalho), When Flowers Are Not Silent (Andrei Kutsila), Ennio Morricone (Giuseppe Tornatore), How to Become Jacques Cousteau (Liz Garbus), Dreaming Walls (Amélie van Elmbt, Maya Duverdier), Jackass Forever (Jeff Tremaine), Ascension (Jessica Kingdon), Painter (Oliver Hirschbiegel), Sabaja (Hogir Hirori), Mucenbacher (Ruth Beckermann), Bob Spit – We Do Not Like People (Cesar Cabral), Nick Cave: This Much I Know To Be True (Andrew Dominik) and See you Friday, Robinson (Mitra Farahani).
As part of the domestic competition program, new authors will be presented who offer a fresh perspective and inventive styles, and festival visitors will have the opportunity to meet new voices of Serbian documentary film. Two world premieres, two regional premieres and one Serbian premieres will take place at the festival. This year’s selection consists of seven documentaries, including two short films. In addition to the film Without by Luka Papić, the domestic competition selection also includes: Museum of the Revolution (Srđan Keča), Landscapes of the Pannonian Fern (Marko Cvejić), My Hand (Koštana Banović), Adapted (Dejan Petrović), Apple and Two Cherries (Mina Petrović) and Spring (Viktor Horvat).
