The ninth international festival of documentary film and television forms GRAFEST will be held from December 7th to December 9th, 2020 in the House of Culture “Gračanica”, which is also the organizer of the festival. In addition to the House of Culture “Gračanica”, the festival will be held in Kosovska Mitrovica in PKC “Aquarius”. The ceremonial opening of the festival will take place on December 7th, 2020 at 4 p.m.

The goal of this festival, as in previous years, is to encourage creative documentary production, achieve direct influence on local authors, production and media houses, as well as create a film audience through quality screenings of carefully selected films of contemporary Serbian and regional production. The non-competative program includes three films, which cover the theme of this year’s festival – “Spaces of Oblivion”. The festival opens with Speleonaut, a film by Sonja Đekić, long-time selector of this festival, from 2018, and two films from 2020 will be shown – Affiliation by Tea Lukač, director and multimedia artist, and Twins Woven From Sleep directed by Sead Šabotić and Lea Vahrušev.

In the competition program, authors from Kosovo and Metohija will present their documentary and television works, films, reports and related television forms. The selector of the competition program of the festival, Nevena Matović, has chosen works that deserved to enter the official competition program due to their quality, she wrote about this year’s production: “GRAFEST confirms that Kosovo and Metohija are an inexhaustible source of ideas and that everyday life inspires authors to step out of the framework of daily political reporting.ˮ

A four-member jury, consisting of: Zoran and Svetlana Popović, founders of the European Documentary Film Festival “Seven Magnificent Ones”, Ivana Vanovac, journalist and Đorđe Jevtić, journalist and publicist, will evaluate the films and select those that will take home the awards at the closing ceremony .

The festival is held with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information and the Office for Kosovo and Metohija of the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

Admission to all screenings is free with mandatory compliance with all prescribed measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
