The Shady Mediterranean, a film directed by Ivan Jović, produced by the local production company Terirem, is one of 20 projects from around the world selected for presentation at the 10th Apulia Film Forum in Brindisi, Italy, taking place from October 10th to October 13th.
In cooperation with the regional government of Apulia, the Apulia Film Commission is dedicated to developing the film industry in this Italian region and creating incentives for foreign producers. The Serbian project The Shady Mediterranean has passed a challenging selection and will be presented to interested Italian producers.
This project has already received development support from Film Center Serbia, the SEE Cinema Network and Creative Europe – Media, as well as production support at the latest Film Center Serbia competition.
The film’s aesthetic-oriented story, part of which will be shot in Greece, is of interest to Italian partners because of the universality of the theme and the dialogues, which are partly written in English, which reinforce the co-production potential of this project. The Serbian cast will feature Jovo Maksić, who played the title role in the director’s previous project Healing, Ivan Bosiljčić, who is also the film’s executive producer, Milica Stefanović, Anđela Popović and others. This presentation will be an opportunity for Italian producers to get acquainted with new trends in Serbian cinema and to open new avenues of international cooperation for Serbian film industry.
