As part of the 29th Author’s Film Festival, the eighth consecutive French-Serbian film meetings will be held from November 28th to November 30th. The meetings are organized by the French Institute, MTS Dvorana, Film Center Serbia and ACID, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia.
The meetings are another aspect of the successful film cooperation between France and Serbia and they are shaped through discussions on a number of topics dedicated to film and film making. As part of the program, numerous events will be organized, with participation of rench and Serbian experts: lectures, meetings and workshops on the topic of film criticism, audio engineering and EU audio-visual policy. Workshops and panels are intended for film experts, but also for students of various fields of film art and film lovers.
Along with the strong influence of the Internet on traditional film criticism, new forms of film-critical and filmophile expression are developing in the online space. During the panel “Beyond traditional film criticism: how to create a successful YouTube channel and Instagram account with film content”, the authors of two accounts with a large number of followers – Jovan Vasiljević (Instagram account cinematologist with 1.1 million followers) and Nicolas Delage (author of the YouTube channel of the same name) with a total of 6.6 million views) – will share practical advice and talk about the advantages and challenges of working on such channels.
Participants of the round table “Structural review of the EU audiovisual policy: towards harmonization of action” – Julie-Jeanne Rregnault, Secretary General, EFAD, Laëtitia Kulyk, Regional Attaché for Audiovisual Activity, Embassy of France in Serbia and Frederic Cornet, EuropaCinemas, will discuss how to orchestrate and harmonize the various practical and legal mechanisms of the audio-visual sector in European countries, in and outside the EU.
As part of the talk called “Sound Design in Film”, sound experts Anna Devillaire, Carolina Santana, Pierre-Antoine Coutant and Aleksandar Protić will reveal the secrets of their craft and reveal more about sound design, editing and mixing. These three French and one Serbian professional will discuss and exchange their experiences and opinions about work techniques and the specifics of their activities in France and Serbia.
