The Japanese-Serbian Film Festival, which is part of the official program of the European Capital of Culture – Novi Sad 2022, has announced an open call isfor films in three categories on the topic of cultfrontation.
The thematic film festival of cultural exchange between Japan and Serbia is open for new feature and short films in three categories (JSFF, EAWB, INTERNATIONAL) until July 4 this year. JSFF is included in the official program of the European Capital of Culture – Novi Sad 2022 within the program unit Second? Europe, that is, a culture of something different that reveals alternative, marginalized, minority and rebellious expressions.
The selection of the 9th Japanese-Serbian Film Festival will be shown in Tokyo, Novi Sad and Belgrade.

NEW FOCUS – from Japanese – Serbian, through regional to international
We first wondered about film boundaries and the phenomenon of national film after Alice Shin, a Korean-Canadian citizen, won the JSFF 2020 in the category for the best Japanese achievement.
Therefore, this year the JSFF program team forms 3 categories: JSFF CORE, EAWB (East Asia – West Balkans) and JSFF INTERNATIONAL.
