The 15th Kustendorf will be held from May 6th to 10th in Drvengrad, Serbia, under the slogan “The disrupting and miraculous beauty of creation”, with guests and live audience, it was announced at the press conference.
Kustendorf is organized by the production company Rasta International and under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia and the town of Mećavnik. Young filmmakers and luminaries of world film will once again be the focus of the festival.
On the occasion of the centenary of the birth of the Italian director Pier Paolo Pasolini, films by this great author will be shown as part of a retrospective program. The slogan of the festival is a line from a short film What are clouds? by Pasolini.
COMPETITION PROGRAM
In the competition program, there will be 15 films that represent the latest trends in the short film production, but also stand out because of the authenticity of the author’s views and their filmmaking skill. Authors from Denmark, Russia, Serbia, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Romania, France, Northern Macedonia, Israel, Portugal, Great Britain, Slovakia and Poland will compete for the Golden, Silver and Bronze Egg Award.
The international jury consists of: Egyptian director Mariam Abou Ouf, international film publicity agent Brigitta Portier, director and screenwriter, Dušan Milić and camera professor, visual effects expert and visual artist Ivan Šijak.
CONTEMPORARY TRENDS
The Contemporary Tendencies program will host such films as the winner of the Cannes Film Grand Prix, A Hero, directed by Asghar Farhadi, winner of the Cannes Film Festival’s main film critics’ award, Feathers by Egyptian director Omar El Zohairy, winner of the Otranto Film Festival Jury Award, The Story of My Wife by Hungarian director Ildikó Enyedi, followed by One Second by the Chinese director Zhang Yimou, as well as the film Freda, directed by Gessica Généus from Haiti.
